At The Haven, our examination and analysis is geared towards the detection of Vertebral Subluxation. The procedures used are specifically selected with YOUR spine and nervous system in mind. Here are a couple things you can expect during your initial visit at The Haven. We will begin with a detailed & personalized consultation to get a better understanding of your health and wellness journey. We will focus on your specific health goals and what you want to achieve while under care. Your health is your most valuable asset and should be treated accordingly. Therefore, you will receive a full neurological evaluation to get an exact assessment of how your nervous system is currently functioning. This will include a postural analysis and INSiGHT scan. The primary goal of scanning is to detect hidden patterns of damaging stress, track changes and then observe scans for improving trends. These scans are radiation free and safe for every patient. Spinal X-rays may be recommended depending on your age and situation. There are many reasons why we would not take x-rays on certain patients including pregnancy, most children, recent usable spinal x-rays and some other various situations. With this important information we can make a more accurate determination of the type of adjustments your specific spine needs as well as the ongoing frequency of your care. Your scans will be explained to you and covered in detail at your Report of Findings. Your Report of Findings will be scheduled within a few days of your initial visit. This visit is your most important visit and may take up to 30 minutes. It is at your Report of Findings that we will give you a care plan and go over any special instructions you will need to obtain the best and fastest possible results. Insurance We do not take insurance because we do not want insurance telling us what we can and cannot do for you. In general, insurance companies are not focused on any preventative or wellness services. They were designed for quick, short-term symptom and disease care and treatment which is heavily invested in the conventional model of health care that too often relies on drugs and surgery. We must realize that what our culture calls health care is actually “sick” care, since it has little to do with advancing true health. It’s mostly about suppressing symptoms while ignoring the underlying cause. If you have a policy it will probably help with at least some of the expense of your sick care. But few policies pay for things that help us keep our health. We are committed to a vitalistic model that addresses the underlying causes of your symptoms with gentle and specific nervous system centered chiropractic care. Most insurance policies do not cover chiropractic care for children. We are not willing to exclude the segment of the population that chiropractic care can benefit and impact the most. It is, and always will be, easier and less expensive to grow healthy children than to repair damaged adults.
